Interested in playing a great golf course for an even greater cause? If so, you are invited to join us on Sunday, June 10, 2012, when the 2nd annual Lung Transplant Foundation Golf Tournament/ Fred Krenrich Classic is held at the Duke University Golf Club. There will be an 11a.m. shotgun start with check-in and a silent auction beginning at 8.
Registration is open for the first 120 players now through June 1 for this Captain’s Choice event, which will feature prizes for the top three teams as well as awards for putting, driving, and being closest to the pin. Hole-in-one prizes include a vacation to the Frenchman’s Reef Marriott on St. Thomas, a $500 gift certificate to Ruth’s Chris Steak House, a Hot Springs, VA getaway and a new car from Johnson Hyundai of Cary! The silent auction will feature items from organizations such as Golf Digest, Carolina Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, Wintergreen Resort, and the Washington Duke Inn.
The entry fee is $150 per player, which includes practice balls before the event, a goody bag and golf glove with a Lung Transplant Foundation ball marker, box lunch and dinner. If a spouse or friend wants to have dinner, the cost is $30. All profits will benefit the research efforts of the Lung Transplant Foundation, which aims to make life longer and better for lung transplant recipients. To register, complete this form and send it in with your check to the address listed on the form. The deadline for registering is June 1. Handicaps will be assigned by the Duke University Golf Club pros.
Also, corporate sponsorships are still available for this tournament, and are a vital part of our fundraising efforts. The deadline for signing up for a sponsorship is May 25.
If you’re an out-of-town guest, the Washington Duke Inn is offering participants a discounted room rate of $109 a night.
